As we all should know by now, Instagram is a great platform for hair extension business owners to showcase their products, services and best work. However, to get the most out of your Instagram account, you need to know the best times to post. So when is the best time to post? I get asked this question a lot, and of course, you can google the best times and get a generic answer (that everybody else is getting to) or you could find the best times that work for YOUR specific audience.

Finding the best times to post on Instagram can be tricky, but with the help of your follower insights, it's easier than you might think.

In this blog, we'll show you how to use your follower insights to find the best times to post on Instagram.

First things first, what are follower insights? Follower insights show you information about your followers, such as their age, gender, location, and what times they're most active on Instagram. This information is incredibly valuable when it comes to deciding when to post.

Step 1: Switch to a Professional Account

Before you can access your follower insights, you need to switch to a business or creator account. If you already have a personal account, you can easily switch to a business account by following these steps:

1. Go to your profile and tap the three lines in the top right corner.

2. Tap Settings.

3. Tap Account.

4. Tap Switch to Professional Account.

5. Follow the prompts and choose a category for your business. (we suggest choosing the creator account over the business one)

Now that you have a professional account, you will have access to your insights! To access your follower insights, click on “Professional dashboard” on your profile. From there click “Total followers”, then “See all” to see the data about your followers.

Now you can view a range of data about your account's performance, including your followers' demographics, location and behaviour etc but the key metric we’re looking for is ‘Most Active Times’ which you’ll find at the bottom of the page. Here you can see the days and times that your followers are most online. Consider posting during or shortly before the peak activity times when your followers are most likely to see and engage with your content!
